Antoine Deckers

As a professional photographer and filmmaker specialized in the hospitality industry, I was looking for a more artistic and personal project during the Covid period which brought me to street photography.

Living in Brussels, it was easy for me to go out and take pictures on a regular basis. Looking at people passing. Wandering through the streets in search of something quite ordinary that I could transform into something special by finding the right moment, angle, and lighting. Engaging in street photography helped me also to keep my mind focused. It made me a better photographer in having quick reactions and knowing my camera by heart.

In November 2021, I aimed to share my passion and enthusiasm for this art form with fellow photographers. This led me to initiate photowalks under the banner of the 1000streets Collective. Through this initiative, I seek to create a space where like-minded individuals can explore and inspire each other through the beauty of street photography.
